In this weeks online class we're now able to have a basic understanding of the similarities and differences between the two platforms. It seems that OpenSim is a viable alternative to SecondLife. I still consider myself new to both platforms, especially when it comes to building assets in the virtual world.
I tried to keep up with the instruction and the electronic guides to create the URL provider, slideshow, book, and share a YouTube display. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I for sure was having a hard time with following along in finding the tools, listening and reading the instruction, and trying to create the objects in the short about of time.
The upside to this week were about a couple of frameworks presented for designing learning experiences in virtual worlds. This will be helpful the current and future research I'm doing for work with 360° VR video and perhaps working on the next step of VR worlds.
